[作家コメント]
映画のサウンドデザイン、実験的な音楽、そしてわれわれの個々の音風景を作り出している不規則な日常音に着想を受けて制作した。「Go-Go-Go」は、一旦、綿密に配置をすれば、アコースティックな音環境を作り出すことができるアナログの電気機械装置である。電車の通過音、洗濯物のピチャピチャという音、虫の鳴き声などの環境音と調和(不調和)しうる持続的な演奏者でもある。50年近く前の「555タイマー・モジュール」の設計にちなんで名付けられたこの作品は、電子廃部品で組み立てられたほぼ無音のドラムビートを引き起こし、内蔵スピーカーを通して再生される。

Inspired by film sound design, experimental music and the erratic daily noises that create our personal soundscapes, Go-Go-Go is an analogue electromechanical assembly that, once carefully placed, can create an acoustic environment. It’s a perpetual performer in (dis)harmony with ambient sounds like train crossings, the pitter-patter of wet laundry or the comings and goings of insects. It’s named after the nearly 50-year-old design of the 555 timer module, used here to trigger a nearly silent drumbeat assembled from discarded electronic components, and played through an internal speaker. The title is a play on the word “five” or “go” in Japanese.

チェコ・プラハ生まれ。写真・インスタレーション作家。写真を様々な視点から捉え、多様に表現すること、またその潜在的な可能性に興味を持っている。作品はこれまで北米、ヨーロッパ、アジアで展示、コレクションされている。
